Students will learn about the percussion instrument family (Continued Lesson) Students will differentiate Mi-Sol-La tonal patterns Students will differentiate high and low sounds 1st Grade (Continued Lessons) Students will learn to play various notated songs and explore all areas of music in music stations (guitar, ukulele, drums, keyboard, handbells, boomwhackers, reading, music listening, glockenspiels) Students will learn about the string and percussion instrument families. 2nd Grade (Continued Lesson) Students will learn about the four instrument families of the orchestra, specifically the woodwind and brass families. 3rd Grade (Continued Lesson) Students will learn about the four instrument families of the orchestra and the methods of sound production of each instrument group. Students will practice for Recorder Karate Belt tests. 4th Grade (Continued Lesson) Students will differentiate songs in duple and triple meter. Students will learn about the four instrument families of the orchestra and the methods of sound production of each instrument group. Students will differentiate La - Sol - Mi pitches. Students will review the concept of tempo through Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King". Students will learn about the percussion family of the orchestra. Students will learn tonic pitches (mi-re-do) through song and play on the xylophone and glockenspiels. 1st Grade Students will review Largo, Allegro, and Presto tempo markings. Students will learn about the string family of the orchestra. Students will learn to play various notated songs in Music Stations (keyboard, boomwhackers, soprano xylphones, djembes, handbells, listening station, guitar, ukulele) 2nd Grade Students will learn about ostinati in music. Students will learn about the four instrument families of the orchestra, specifically the string and percussion families. Students will review treble clef line and space notes.
