Continued Lesson... Students will practice We Are the World (Clearwater) Students will learn to play various notated songs and explore all areas of music in music stations (ukulele, djembe, keyboard, handbells, boomwhackers, reading, music listening, glockenspiels) 1st Grade Students will learn a Hawaiian and Samoan Sasa dance (Clearwater) Students will practice We Are the World (Clearwater) Students will analyze the tempo, instrumentation, dynamics, and mood of a musical excerpt (Largo) Students will play Apple Tree singing music game 2nd Grade Continued Lesson... Students will learn to sing Kookaburra in a round. Students will learn a folk song and dance. Students will practice We Are the World (Clearwater) 3rd Grade Blues Unit Students will learn about the Blues, its’ origin, and poetry in music through Langston Hughes Students will learn about the standard blues stanza Students will create their own Blues song using the standard blues stanza and will perform in class Students will practice We Are the World (Clearwater) 4th Grade Composition Writing Unit Students will learn how to notate a simple 10 measured melody (include staff, treble clef, bar lines, double bar line or repeat sign, 4/4 time signature, and two measure theme) Students will practice We Are the World (Clearwater) 5th Grade Students will learn the Olympic Theme song on the recorder, xylophone and djembe accompaniment in preparation for the Olympic Ceremony. (Clearwater) Students will practice We Are the World (Clearwater) Students will learn Purple and Blue Belt songs on the recorder (Largo)
